"About women" is an artistic project with a message expressed through an unique form of art such as tapestry accompanied by graphics, waxed colors and textile artworks
Why "About Women"?
Because every work speaks about different aspects of the feminity, because the emotions that have generated the artworks are essentially feminine but also because the method of work, tapestry, is in fact a meticulous art which gains form and artistic value mostly in the hands of a woman.
For Mihaela Mirela Grigore tapestry means color, sensitivity, it means moments of life translated in thousands of hours of work and this way transformed into art.
Dedicated to this form of art even from the beginning of her activity, in time, the artist shaped a vision of her own and has created a world full of simbols and fantasy, thus finding a way of expressing her thoughts and ideas.
In the works of this exhibition, the woman, fragile and powerfull at the same time, caught in the chaos of the daily life, regains her force, her charm and that specific feminine mystery. The technique used combines the sewing on the coarse muslin or canvas and the collage with the direct intervention of some materials such as wood, string, wire, glass.
About herself Mire declares:
"I tell myself that each work is unique because it expresses the joy of an unrepeatable moment, and its purpose is to enrich the souls of the others, to make their live less sad. I search with obstinacy the beautiful, I try to keep away from grotesque, in a century in which the ugly and the ridiculous is being considered to be art. Each of my works is a manifestation of my emotions, and those emotions speak a language understood by everybody. I think that in its works the artist is presenting himself or herself."
The exhibition is sustained by the following media parteners:
